More Details
The Aquapac Compact Camera Cases are rated waterproof to 5 metres / 15 feet which means you can protect your camera in all sorts of scenarios where you wouldn't usually take it. That might be when you are hill walking in heavy rain, when Kayaking, Canoeing, sailing or if you are messing about with the kids in waves on the edge of a beach and want some photos to remember it by or even if you want to get down underwater and take photos when snorkelling.
The Aquapacs are dust and sand-proof as well as waterproof so you can take your camera safely to the beach even on a windy day. If you have an adventurous spirit they are designed to work well in extreme climates too so if you are trekking in Norway, checking out pyramids in the desert or taking in the sights in a rainforest these are invaluable.
There’s enough room for some zoom lens use but only a very small amount. The seams are high-frequency welded to form a super-strong bond and the Aquaclip® seal opens and closes with a quick twist of two levers when you need to take your camera out of the case. Do make sure there is no grit or sand along the seal before closing the case. The cases are tough but you do need to treat them sensibly and check them regularly too.
Your camera should float in this case – but make sure you test yours in a basin before you launch it into the sea!
It comes supplied with 3 desiccant sachets to absorb condensation in humid climates.
Features
- You can take great photographs right through the LENZFLEX windows even when underwater.
- The Mini Case is compatible with most non-zoom compact cameras.
- It'll float with your camera in it.
- It's guaranteed submersible to 15 feet (5 metres).
- The UV-stabilized TPU material won't be broken down or discoloured by sunlight.
- It keeps out dust and sand too. They're a particular problem for cameras.
Using the Case
Before Every Use
Seal something worthless inside, then submerge in a basin to check the waterproofness.
Closing the Case
Make sure that all parts are properly attached. Wipe away any grit or sand, which could hamper the seal. Always turn the levers as far as they will go, it takes a bit of force to push them fully closed. They should lock smoothly, if not there may be something impeding the seal.
Opening the Case
Never open your Aquapac in or under water. In order to stop any water getting in when you are opening it, first shake off any water then dry with a towel. Hold the case with the opening at the bottom as you open it.
Photographs will be clearer if you push the lens against the case to eliminate internal reflection off the plastic. Avoid using flash if possible, the light is likely to bounce back and create glare.
