The Minn Kota Riptide are the recommended electric trolling outboard motors for saltwater use from the Minn Kota range. These outboards are suitable for saltwater thanks to the advanced corrosion protection.

The RipTide motors are available with a variable speed motor which uses the Digital Maximizer™ for increased run times OR with the standard 5 forward speed + reverse option which doesn't use the Digital Maximizer™.

For the majority of canoes, the smaller sizes of the Riptide outboards are more than sufficient. Minn Kota design the motors leisure boats in the US, canoes require much less thrust than the average bass boat.
