The Nova Craft Prospector 16 TuffStuff is a lightweight canoe with an all-round design that's suitable for short recreational paddles and longer day trips.

The Nova Craft Prospector is an slight copy of the Chestnut Canoes Prospector from the early 1920's. It has the traditional upswept bow to keep you dry in rough water, moderate rocker for increased manoeuvrability without sacrificing straight line tracking and smooth rounded mid-hull section to give a feel of stability. A truly great all round design that makes the Prospector 16 popular choice for both the beginner and seasoned pro.

The Prospector 16's Tuffstuff construction is a cutting edge composite made of basalt and Innegra fibres. Basalt fibre is made of melted basalt rock and Innegra is a fibre consisting mostly of polypropylene. When they are woven together into a cloth and infused with high impact vinylester resin, the result is simply amazing! TuffStuff canoes are a great choice for paddlers looking for a lightweight canoe (13.5kg lighter than SP3) with more than enough strength to handle plenty of thorough use. The TuffStuff Expedition laminate features additional reinforcing ribs and a thicker core matting in the base of the hull for an even tougher construction, perfect for use further off the beaten track.
