The Nova Craft Prospector 17 is a copy taken from the original Chestnut Canoes Prospector design of the early 1920's. A moderate rocker helps to increase the manoeuvrability without sacrificing straight line tracking and smooth rounded hull flattening towards the mid-hull section gives a real feel of stability. Constructed from one of the lightest weight materials on the open canoe market TuffStuff, which is a combination of basalt and Innegra fibres. Basalt fibres are made from melted basalt rock and Innegra is a fibre consisting mainly of polypropylene. When they are woven together into a cloth material then infused with Nova Crafts high impact vinylester resin, the result is simple. A lightweight TuffStuff!
