The Ocean Kayak Malibu Pedal Drive Kayak at 12ft in length has been based on the popular Old Town Salty 120 kayak. Incorporating a dynamic hull-shape making the Malibu P.D.L suitable for both fresh and coastal trips. The hull shape has also been designed with user-friendliness and stability in mind, offering a dry ride due to the raised seating system and upswept bow that cuts over small waves, and deflects spray away from the kayak. At around four metres in length this kayak is considered a good all-round size and capable of carrying a wide range of different sized paddlers.

The pedal drive on the Malibu Pedal Kayak is Old Towns legendary PDL Drive, that is both easy to operate (in either direction) and also remove from the kayak when not in use, or when loading onto a roofrack. The removable seat system has been designed to provide a good amount of lumbar support and is adjustable along a fixed track to for users with different leg lengths. The seat cover is a durable mesh fabric that provides gives ventilation on warm days and drainage on wet ones, whilst the frame system keeps the kayaker up above the waterline for a drier ride.
