Multipurpose Sea Kayak in Corelite X

The P&H Leo is a compact sea kayak, measuring 4.87 meters in length. This reduced size contributes to a lighter weight, evident during loading and unloading from your car and carrying the Leo down to the water. The hull contains a significant amount of rocker, along with soft chines, giving it an overall elegant appearance and leading to a nimble and manoeuvrable  cruising kayak which sits between the longer expedition focused Scorpio and the more recreational Virgo.

The hull has plenty of primary stability for those newer to kayaking in performance craft but with progressive secondary stability when you want to push things a bit harder in rougher conditions and surf. In fact the Leo performs really well in surf due to its increased rocker and will look after you in all sea conditions whether you are using its compact shape to dart amongst the rocks or proceeding in a more sedate fashion along the coastline with its surprisingly efficient tracking abilities for a kayak less than 5m long.

The Leo comes as standard with the traditional 3 Hatch design but there is an option for a bow mini hatch, ideal for small items on the go such as gloves or a snack. This adds up to plenty of storage space for longer paddles and overnight expeditions. There are full deck-lines for safety and various bungees for plenty of gear storage options. There is also a compass recess and specific moulding for your spare splits. The cockpit is particularly comfortable and crucially has plenty of room to stretch your legs on longer paddles.

The Leo is available in the super-light and stiff Corelite X construction with either a Skeg or the Skudder option. Corelite X is narrowing the the gap between polythene and composite construction and you'll find its 2-3kg lighter than the original Corelight - after all you want your kayak hull to be stiff, not your back!
