The Swift Canoes Prospector 15 lightweight tandem open canoes is the ideal canoe for paddling either tandem or solo. Over the decades since its original design the symmetrical and curvaceous Prospector has become one of the most popular and beloved of all open boat designs. It really does have it all with a moderate rocker, reasonably high freeboard and curved underside. This shape allows huge versatility with the Prospector 15 easily being able to paddle solo but also working well loaded down with two paddlers and gear for an extended trip. The Prospector 15 feels lively when paddled in moving water with the paddlers being protected by the generous freeboard and curved bow shape yet will just as easily cover distance on a large lake or river.  There is plenty of room for gear but we would suggest that two paddlers intending on longer multi-night expeditions might want to check out the Swift Prospector 16.

Swift Canoes Prospector 15 Combi: This is a hugely popular model with paddlers looking to tandem, solo and occasionally take a 3rd person. The Combi version comes kitted out with a removable centre seat, which is great for either paddling solo from a well trimmed centre position or getting 3 people in the Prospector 15 - each on a comfortable seat. The centre seat being removable means that when paddlers only require 2 seats and some kit there is plenty of room for this kit. The Combi also comes with a removable yoke to make portaging this super lightweight canoe easy.

Versa Bow Seat: The option of the Versa bow seat has become increasingly popular with paddlers that are looking for a lightweight canoe to paddle both tandem or solo. The Versa Bow Seat offers a 1 webbing strap deeper seat that is contoured on both the front and rear of the bow seat. This enables the symmetrical hull shape of the Prospector 15 to be solo paddled in the reverse direction to normal tandem paddling. As the seat is slightly deeper it enables a better trim for solo paddling and along with the contoured edge of the seat offers much more comfort to a normal bow seat. This seat is also ideal for slightly large posteriors when paddling in either direction for even more added comfort.

As is the case with all the Swift Canoes we import into the UK, the outfitting on the Prospector series of open boats is considered amongst the best available. With strength, lightness and careful thought being put into all the components and materials used during their construction. The Carbon/Kevlar gunnels are extremely light, yet durable and are infused into the hulls Kevlar Fusion material for superior strength. The Kevlar Fusion hull is popular due to its high strength to weight ratio, providing great abrasion and impact resistance (as far as composite boats go). Available in Swifts two-tone colourway- Emerald or Ruby over Champagne, which provides a smart look, and the Champagne coloured hull makes it harder to see scratches or character marks that the underside may pick up during it's time on the water.
