More Details

The Old Town Sportstman 106 is a compact pedal drive fishing kayak , suitable for use on calm water, such as inland reservoirs, lakes and slow moving rivers. The PDL 106 can also be used on coastal waters, but only recommended on flat days with no swell or chop. The smaller size of the 106 (compared to other pedal-drive kayaks) allows for greater manoeuvrability, thanks to the tighter turning circle and shorter waterline length. The smaller size also means the hull weight is less, allowing for easier carrying, lifting and transporting. Manoeuvrability and steering is also made easier with the factory-fitted rudder system that can easily be deployed with the handily placed lever next to the seat position.

Packed with useful features, the Sportsman 106 makes for an enjoyable day out fishing. The stable hull shape and raised Element seating system allows for a dry, comfortable ride. The seat itself is adjustable to suit different sized paddlers, and also adjusts forwards/backwards along the kayaks hull, to suit paddlers of different heights. This adjustable seat position makes optimal use of the legendary PDL system. Easy to operate (both forward and in reverse), it is also incredibly robust and is easily removed from the kayak for storage and when lifting. Other nice features include bags of in-built storage areas, flush-mounted rod holders and accessory tracks so after-market additions can easily be made.

Solid carrying handles, a non-slip standing area and dedicated transducer mount mean that the Sportsman PDL 106 is up there with the best and a great choice for kayak anglers wanting a lighter weight pedal-drive kayak that is ready to hit the water, and can be added to if and when required.
