The Lightning Throwbag from Palm might be small but it packs a huge number of features into its compact form. The bag is hardwearing Cordura 500D and has a large stiffened neck just like a climbers chalk bag which stays open making for clean line release and easy repacking. The line itself is 18m of 8.5mm polypro cored floating rope, soft on the hands and easy to handle.
Because a rescue situation is all about speed, the clip on the bag is a magnetic fidlock and the Lightning uses Palm's Quick-clip clean line system.
In addition the rope can be removed and used on its own. The Lightning is also compatible with the Palm Rescue and Zambezi belts.
Weighing in at only 551g the Lightning is an ideal all-round rescue item, perfect when space is at a premium or as a spare on expeditions
